Dear AAMBAA Family and Friends,
It is with tremendous enthusiasm that I welcome you to our 34th Annual Whitney M. Young Jr. Memorial Conference! For over three decades, the Conference has been a mainstay of leadership here at the Wharton School, and much anticipated in both the academic and business communities. We, the African American MBA Association (AAMBAA) class of 2008 and 2009, are honored to continue this tradition.
This years theme, Connecting and Developing Dynamic Leadership, reflects the influence and inspiration that arise when an assortment of talent, ideas, and initiatives are brought together. Individuals from various geographic regions, a broad range of professional and business interests and varying levels of career advancement will congregate in Philadelphia on this weekend and the interaction will surely result in much creative and innovative thinking that will inspire attendees for years to come. We invite you to make full use of the expertise and information that will be exchanged throughout the Conference.
I would like to thank our alumni who laid the foundation upon which this years conference is built. Your participation and support contributes to the continued success and increased public recognition of the conference. Your involvement is also a testament to solidarity of the AAMBAA community, and its significance and impact here at the Wharton School.
I would also like to thank our corporate sponsors. Your generous support enables AAMBAA to have a positive affect on American society through leadership in business, and public service. Furthermore, your dedication to AAMBAA reaffirms your commitment to providing Corporate America with the most talented and inclusive pipeline possible.
Additionally, I want to thank our keynote speakers, panelists, guests, and attendees. All of you reflect the spirit of this Conference, and your participation will facilitate a fruitful exchange of information, opinions, and knowledge.
Lastly, I want to thank the 34th Annual Whitney M. Young team. I am truly privileged to have the opportunity to work with a group of such extraordinary individuals. Your hard work and dedication will ensure the success of this momentous event, and I am extremely grateful to you.
Once again, welcome and many thanks to all of you. I want to encourage you to establish as many fruitful relationships as possible over the course of the weekend. Get reacquainted with old colleagues, while making new contacts. Meet a new business associate. Gain an employer or employee. Find yourself a mentor, or become a mentor. Educate someone; learn from someone; connect with someone. I sincerely look forward to a weekend of mutually beneficial and enjoyable interaction with all of you.
Warmest Regards,
Ryan Penn
