Earl Patton

Sony Sports Marketing

Earl Patton Jr. oversees sports marketing for Sony Electronics, Inc. Broadcast Business & Solutions Company (BBSC). As segment manager he provides marketing support and business development for Sony’s sport segment initiatives for all professional and collegiate sports in conjunction with Sony United companies. January 2009, Mr. Patton will be joining Sony Headquarters Brand Management Department in Tokyo, Japan where he will be working on managing various functions as it relates to Sony’s partnership with Federation International Football Association (FIFA) and sponsorship of the World Cup.

Prior to his position at Sony, Mr. Patton served as the Director Basketball Administration for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Before that, Mr. Patton served as the head of music merchandising and strategic development for Columbiahouse.com. In addition, he has held executive and/or consultancy positions with the Portland Trailblazers, Sony Entertainment, Capitol Records and EMCI.

Mr. Patton also founded Patton Sports Academy, which provides minority youth with business opportunities in sports. Patton is also founder of the Global Association for Marketing Executives in Sports Council, a networking organization for sports industry professionals, which fosters cooperation and cross-border business development through networking events and sharing best practices and trends in global markets.
