Chastity Lord currently works for The Posse Foundation, Inc. and is the Executive Director of Posse Chicago, the premier scholarship college access program in Chicago. Posse, with the help of its institutional partners, awards these students four-year, full-tuition merit leadership scholarships and places them in supportive, multicultural teams ("Posses") of ten that attend college together. To date Posse Chicago has awarded over $45 million in scholarships and enrolled 445 Chicago Public High School students in top colleges.
Posse Chicago is the largest four-year college scholarship provider for the city of Chicago. Our persistence and graduation rates have grown from 78% to 92% - nearly double the national college graduation rate and seven times the rate of Chicago Public Schools.
Before coming to Posse Chastity was the Mid-Atlantic Regional Director for The New Teacher Project (TNTP), a non-profit educational consulting firm. Prior to this, she was the Director of Program Services for Mentors, Inc.
As a self described “doer”, Chastity also serves on the following boards - Center on Halstead and the Illinois College Awareness Network. Chastity Lord holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and has recently been accepted to the 2009 Kellogg Executive MBA class.
